I remember seeing this effect on the Ed Sullivan TV show when I was young and it completely fooled me!!  This is a standard one quart pitcher that is made of glass.  Heavy duty clear plastic insert, there are no glass pitchers on the market today, and a quality plastic pitcher sells for at least $25.00.  Very good condition.
